Many have resorted to techniques such as keyword overloading, hidden text, and page redirection; all of these techniques are likely to appease search engines, however, they can be very menacing to a user. Therefore, it is important to remember to create content with users as your primary focus and search engines secondary.

Link spamming occurs when a webmaster creates irrelevant references to their website via forums. Search engines rate link importance based on the website’s authority. So, the more popular the website, the more relevant the link so don’t waste your time chasing after unimportant links just for the purpose of linking.
